The members are Steve Vlam, Ray Guy, Token, JP Lightning and Ty Smith
Influences
The Beatles, Coldplay, Dave Matthews Band, Radio Head, Beethoven, Franz Liszt, Al Green, Barenaked Ladies, Jim Farrington, Damien Rice, Eels, Jacques Brel, Jeff Buckley, Louise Armstrong, Louise Attaque, Queen, Your Mom, The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, Sublime and many more.
Ty Smith, Ray Guy, Andrew (Token) Anglen, Steve Vlam and JP Lightning come together and make Adrienne’s Cousin. Born and raised in the Philadelphia area, these guys are an unlikely match. Ty is the singer/songwriter guitar-playing "mayor of Lafayette" who is responsible for most of the music and the lyrics. Token on the bass is the baby of the group at a mere 18, but he’s the heartthrob. His youthful smile and playful demeanor solicit business cards and phone numbers from women 15-51. Ray Guy is the drummer. Ray has the energy and enthusiasm of a kid! Steve the newest addition to the band and what an addition. Steve plays lead guitar and wows the audience with his skill. Hearing him isn’t enough; people flock from nearby rooms just to see who is wailing on the guitar. And then there is JP Lightning. When he is awake and present he adds a variety of percussion and harmonies to the band along with a sick, witty and spontaneous sense of humor. Adrienne’s Cousin has played in bars, coffee shops, and at weddings. Their sound is comparable to Coldplay, Damien Rice, Dave Matthews Band and many more. They are a versatile band covering songs from Brittany Spears, to Dr. Dre to DMB and Sublime and creating originals that fall into the genres of rock, reggae and just recently funk.
You can see Ty Smith and JP Lightning at the General Lafayette Inn and Brewery (646 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill PA 19444) every Wednesday at 10pm and Ty every Thursday at 9:30pm.
