Aaron Leaney & Eric Hamelin - No More Shapes - Animation by Crystal Collective

Recently, I have been playing in a workshop duo format with drummer Eric Hamelin (Chad VanGaalen) Unfortunately, neither of us has had time to record anything but here is a short animated piece entitled No More Shapes which was recorded in January 2007 on Eric's personal reel to reel and has been put to animation by the Crystal Collective.

Je suis un saxophonist, un improvisateur et un compositeur canadiens. Récemment, j'avais expérimenté avec des normes de jazz et une improvisation libre qui a influencé mon arrangement et approche en musique. La composition joue un rôle important dans la musique que je crée parce qu'elle me donne une sortie pour exprimer ma expérience personnelle ; ce que je vois et sens dans ma vie. Cependant, l'improvisation est immédiate et plus appropriée à la période et à l'espace exacts d'où j'exécute. La différence principale est en composition que vous avez toute l'heure dans le monde, vous pouvez prendre des jours et des semaines à la figure hors de la prochaine note, mais avec l'improv il n'y a aucun dos de rotation - il est vivant et ne vous attendra pas.

a tour in germany and austria with friendly rich and the lollipop people, and am going to other european places in april with picastro...thought you'd like this: i'm playing with this reggae band opening for gregory isaacs next monday....craziness!
