The world is random uncaring chaos. No god, no destiny, no after life, no karma, no faith, no grand design, nothing to believe in. You are on your own. Everything is permitted. You take complete responsibility for your own actions and inaction.
You are the Boss. You must invent yourself. You are not inheriting anyone's religion, good traits, or bad habits.
In the opinion of Albert Camus "we are all absurdest heroes." Camus continues, "The world around me that I touch, it exists, all the rest is construction. Philosophers can play with words and pretend life has meaning but it has no meaning. There is only a silent indifferent universe and the hunger of the human heart confronting the indifference of a cold universe creates the absurd."
Life is absurd. It's paradox. It's a contradiction. Why are we heroes? Because we recognize that life is absurd and yet we continue, like Sisyphus to push the rock up the hill only to watch it fall, time after time.
But those who recognize the absurdity know that awareness is our salvation. Just because life has no meaning doesn't mean it has no value. The value is in our freedom, our passion, our revolt, our love.
The challenge is to turn every idea, and every image into a privileged moment. It is at it's root Taoism; no past, no future, just the moment. Live life right now. for this moment is the only eternity.

The ********* is a symbol of everything that makes America great. Straightforward, egalitarian, substantial, and good-natured, it is also a little bloody at times.
