"Baby fine sand between my toes, ants on parade, misty mornings, hot springs, the rain, others breathing in yoga, love letters, hungry hummingbirds (luck), strangers dancin' to 80's music, captured & held hostage by Oprah & the Animal Planet, children, deformities, green ginger tea with honey, real artists.. and quotes like: "I'm not afraid of tomorrow, for I've seen yesterday and I love today."

WHITTON, the youngest born of 6 musical siblings, was raised in Reno, Nevada, where gambling & cigarettes were invested in every little grocery store and casino. WHITTON began singing at the age of 6. She soon joined the Sunshine Generation Musical Theatre Group and literally became a household name when she started performing throughout senior retirement homes across Reno. WHITTON’S talent was quickly noticed and she was handpicked to play one of the lead roles in the original musical ‘STARBURST’, from the age of 8 to 13, which played seasonally at the infamous Flamingo Hilton. To expand her vocal ability and knowledge base of music, she also began privately studying Opera at the age of 11 and performed classical serenades at various casinos and restaurants throughout Nevada for over 4 years. WHITTON had built quite a huge buzz for herself at an early age, but more than anything, she was interested in writing and performing her own material.
She formed WHITTON and THE BLUE SUITS and recorded a full length album with producer DAVID HAUSER (REDBONE, SUPREME BEINGS OF LEISURE, IRON BUTTERFLY). She then went on to collaborate with her sister, STACEY, on a full length album with KEVIN WHITE (BILLY RAY CYRUS), who co-wrote and co-produced the album with the sisters. At the same time, she began performing her music live and touring with backing musicians, playing stripped down acoustic sets across the country and developing a fanbase. Her music caught the attention of the New York Music Festival who voted WHITTON as “Best Female Acoustic Rock Artist” in 2004. WHITTON released 2 more albums with various musicians over the next couple years and began to garner much local and national press and radio airplay during this time. BRYAN PHILLIPS, Radio Personality at MIX 92.9 KOMG mentioned that “WHITTON’S” music is right on the money, powerfully original, and keeps my listeners asking for more!” and ICEMAN STEVE PHILLIPS, Radio Personality at Tiger Radio Online spoke about WHITTON’S music as “songs that will make you remember why you love listening”.
After much success touring and recording countless material, WHITTON felt it was time to learn guitar and start touring solo. Her newest material is collection of songs on a ‘LIVE IN SAN DIEGO’ album which was recorded live and released earlier this year, and has subsequently received the most attention to date. She is also featured as a guest vocalist on the Soundtrack of the SHOWTIME Emmy-Nominated hit series ‘DEXTER’, set for release in Fall 2007. Heralded as having the spirit of a gypsy and the discipline of a solider, WHITTON independently continues to constantly write and record new material and tour relentlessly. She brings a quirky fairytale sublime to the real and raw everyday. Her surprising riffs and powerful turns punctuate her melodies with gusto. Described as “dirt folk with a touch of honey”, this must-see musician fuses an ethereal mixture of BJORK, RICKIE LEE JONES, REGINA SPEKTOR and COCTEAU TWINS.
