KINNAIRD AND YK PRODUCTIONS, LLC AND SILENT NEMESIS WORKSHOP, LLC THE VILLIKON CHRONICLES: GENESIS OF EVIL is based on characters and situations from THE VILLIKON CHRONICLES graphic novel series, and is adapted from the original trilogy of screenplays and THE CRUCIBLES OF MYSTERE prequel screen story. The film is a visually stunning mini-epic set four years before the graphic novels, and is faithful in tone to the same quintessential themes and breathtaking cues of its predecessor.
In a forbidden militarized quadrant, a slave girl is marooned on a hostile world used as a dumping ground for exiled soldiers by its planetary czar, HIGH ADMIRAL SKRYTON . Apprenticed in fighting by exiled assassin LORD JASTA , and in search of her own identity and eager to find a new destiny, MYSTERE matures into a headstrong young woman and embarks upon an extraordinary pilgrimage to the most poorly explored regions of planet Itasca.
Mystere ventures into a frontier where an ancient Wiccan society offers asylum and ordains her a tribal huntress. But factions of the sisterhood harbor a secret of evil. Mystere’s mentors, BREMUSA and LYKOPSIS , hold captive their former leader, DIDO . Dido was infected while on a hunt, a hunt where she encountered a horrific creature, a creature carrying a viral Porphyrian strain of DNA designed by High Admiral Skryton’s own Commodore of Science, SIMON MAGNUS . Bremusa and Lykopsis hid Dido from their tribe and taunted and used her in ceremonies to instill the ancient CRAFT OF ZEMLYA within newly ordained huntresses. While Mystere is exposed to Dido in a devotional exercise allowing one’s senses to temporarily conjoin with the essence of other creatures, the ceremony goes awry. In essence, Dido is the daughter breed of the failed scientific experiment of Simon Magnus, PROJECT CREIGHTON . The military project was an experiment in humanoid weapon genetics - a life form intended for secret insertion into societies of enemy factions as a cannibal.
Unbeknownst to Mystere, Lord Jasta has tracked his protégé across every treacherous region of the planet. Fate suddenly places him in the location of Mystere’s greatest need for help. Together, Lord Jasta and Mystere, and the mysteriously deceptive Bremusa, fight and flee as far from the hybridized tribe as possible.
Meanwhile, in deep space, captain of the PROVIDENCE , revered military leader and war hero KORT VILLIKON , is away on leave. In his absence, a deviant commander and evil conspirator, MALCOLM VISMAL , commences with an illegal planetary extraction of Lord Jasta and his detected female companions. But not all of Villikon’s crew lackey so willingly to the renegade orders of High Admiral Skryton, who precariously delegates uncensored commands without government approval, and always from a secret orbit on the dark side of Itasca.
Villikon crew loyalist, also his 2nd Lieutenant, TABINA TANZER , questions Vismal’s retrieval and further interrogation tactics and quarantine of the extractees. In a riveting climactic endgame, Lord Jasta allies with a formidable proponent, a character who suddenly is not who they originally appear to be.
While executing a plan for re-escape, Jasta toils with abandoning his newfound freedom in the civilized galaxy, albeit perceived freedom aboard Providence, and a paradoxal freedom at that, with life in stockade or existence perhaps better lived incomprehensibly in exile back on Itasca. A world at the threshold of barbarism...
