SONGS FOR SEEDS-----------------
A compilation music project to benefit a village of orphans in Ethiopia--------------------------------
THE SEED WAS PLANTED:------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In 1996, Weyenshet ("Winnie") Shiferaw had a dream of a rainbow stretched across the sky from the United States to Ethiopia. From this vision, the Rainbow Humanitarian Caretaker Foundation was born. Visit RainbowEthiopia.org ------------------------------------ ---------------------------
Winnie, an ex-model from New York, left everything behind to serve God in her homeland of Ethopia where she's single-handedly saving a village of children orphaned by AIDS.

Winnie has acquired a huge plot of gorgeous, fertile land outside Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. There is more than enough land to plant, raise cattle, build a school and an orphanage!

THE VISION ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To create a "green" self-sustaining, farming community. To build an orphanage to house children orphaned by AIDS.
To build a progressive and nurturing school environment with a child sponsorship program, providing basic necessities including food, water, books, clothing, healthcare, etc.

THE CHALLENGE:
The land acquired by Winnie is extremely fertile and rich with nutrients, but the children are so poor, they can't even afford to buy Seeds!!! They need help and we have the resources.

THE GOALS
To raise funds and assemble resources for the Rainbow Humanitarian Caretaker Foundation to assist in the following endeavors:
-Agriculture: dig wells, acquire farming equipment and obtain necessary farming education/training
-Building: construct housing and school facilities
-Education: provide formal education in a nurturing school environment; assist children in gaining confidence in their abilities to reform their community and obtain a better quality of life.

THE PLAN
Assemble a group of recording artists and compile the first music CD, "Songs for Seeds" that will raise awareness and funds to benefit Winnie's children orphaned by AIDS. 100% of proceeds will go to the Rainbow Humanitarian Caretaker Foundation. The first album will have a world-drum/ folk rock theme. Seeking artists with a heart to sow seeds of love, who are committed to the project and to helping these children.

Assemble the Agricultural Team by gathering people/resources who can do the following:
-Provide expertise in well digging and irrigation
-Provide expertise and training in farming and/or donate farming equipment
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Assemble the Administrative Team by gathering people/resources who can help with the following:
-Music Marketing team to raise awareness and exposure through "Songs for Seeds" by partnering with companies such as Starbucks, Whole Foods, Borders Books and Music, etc.
-CD Replication - Donate time and resources
-Computer web design- design and run the SongsForSeeds.com website and myspace.com/songsforseeds.

WHAT WE HAVE ACHIEVED SO FAR:
-Seeds are coming!! There's a company called Seeds of Change that's now going to donate special seeds (non-hybrids) for us to take to Ethiopia!
-Recording Artists have already started to submit songs for the 1st album!
