Hi everyone!
Before I begin I would like to say this is my official myspace page and YES this is me responding to everything. I have to say I am a myspace addict just like everyone else.... ha-ha. I will have blogs up of everything that I'm currently doing and I will have a Live Journal up soon as well so I can keep everyone posted with my crazy adventures!
Thanks for checking out my music. Many of you might know me from America’s Next Top Model cycle 8, and yes all the drama is true, but I still had fun and came home with great new friends and amazing memories. I’m a Chicago girl at heart. The eclectic nature of the city inspires me and the people are so warm and down to earth. My family and friends are here and they keep me grounded. They support everything I do, but they’re always there to remind me I’m just a quirky girl from Chicago. No matter what I’m doing, I’m still the same person inside. I’m most comfortable in my Chuck Taylor’s, jeans and a sweatshirt. That’s where we got the idea for the video for “Me.” Yeah, I can look glamorous for a photo shoot or a runway job, but when I’m hanging out with my friends I certainly don’t go for the “glam” look. I have my own style and I love it!
Here’s a little update of the last six months… I finished making my first full-length record and it was so much fun. I’ve been performing like crazy and if things go as planned I should be off touring for most of the summer. I was out in Los Angeles working with my good friend/writing partner/ producer, Marshall Altman from the end of September through late Novemeber. For those of you who don’t already know… Marshall is an incredible record producer, he has worked with many fabulous artists including Matt Nathenson, Marc Broussard and Kate Voegele just to name a few. Also contributing on my project is engineer/mixer/guitarist and keyboardist Eric Robinson. Eric is sooo talented…Wow! The whole experience was so amazing it’s difficult to describe in words. I’ve received tons of emails and messages asking me “when’s your CD coming out?” The official release date is April 22, 2008 and I can't wait!!!
My web site is now up and running. Please visit www.sarahvonderhaar.com . You can receive a FREE song by clicking on the word NEWSLETTER and filling out the required fields. Then just check your email. Once you confirm that you want to be part of my mailing list you will be able to download and MP3 of my song "Over You" I have worked for months with my tech team to put this site together. I think it's really cool but it's only the beginning. We want to keep building and expanding the capabilities to make it even easier for you to use. This site is all about you . . . MY FANS! Without all of you none of this would be happening. I want this web site to be interactive, and I think it is, but I need to know what you think. Please sign up to be part of the forum and let me know your ideas about what we can do to make this site even better.
I hope everyone loves the music. I put my heart and soul into everything I do. I really enjoy making music and hope you enjoy listening to it. It’s a dream come true to share my passion with the world.
Love, Sarah

HI Hun! Sorry I havent gotten back to you sooner. I have listened to some of your songs. Personally for me so many of the words in your "Pretty..." lryics. I have heard so many times. I guess I have to say I relate. I know from my end, and not from others, and maybe others, to that I...only worry about everyone else. Its not what I do to me but what I do for others that ends me in my place. I realize that is not what your lyrics are going strickly after, being a lyricist myself. Just wanted to say that it hit me deep and in a good way that I need to put myself first more than I do. Breaking myself down will only no longer leave me here to care for anyone an not even myself. Thank you for being out there to share your music. I wish you, my cousin Stevie, and the band everything that God has while you are on tour!
Thanks for the compliments. I used to be in a band called Fifth Year Crush and "Waiting Room" was one of our songs. Although I don't tour anymore, I still write and recently cut a few songs for a new project called Dropping Dulcinea. As an aside, I also work for Rasmussen College and worked with Bill to place "All Mine" on a compilation CD we're putting out in the Fall. We're excited to have you on it. Keep in touch.
