Roommate started out as a solo recording project of Kent Lambert. He recorded the EP Celebs in his Brooklyn NY apartment and self-released it in late 2001. Celebs landed in web journal Uzine's Top 20 releases of 2002 after being hailed as "one of the most promising debuts of recent years". The EP's centerpiece, a tribute (of sorts) to River Phoenix called "RP (forget the metaphors)" was played regularly on Studio Brussel's Duyster radio program in Belgium, and subsequently selected for the "Duyster.Classics" compilation alongside tracks by Low, Cat Power, Tortoise, Sparklehorse, and more.
Hehe, i was just on our last. fm page and saw a link to your myspace. i saw you were listening right now ;-) I'm going to listen to your music now bye!
Yo Roommate !!!! What up? Thanks for gettin' down with me and my team, I hope this Monday starts your week off right, whether you're lookin' to be productive, or UNPRODUCTIVE!!! Heheheh, either way, just stoppin' by to say whattup! Peace!!!!
I love your music! I listen to it everyday. I'm from a lil place called Santa Rosa in CA. You guys should look into setting up a show cause I know it would be sold out!
Kent, I think I know the answer to this question but I'll look dumb and ask it anyway: who writes all your lyrics? They're very poetic, and I don't mean in the rhyming kind of way. :oP I'm assuming it's you. You've always been very "right brained" so it wouldn't surprise me to learn that you write and arrange all the music and lyrics yourself. Just curious though......
found out my roommate got the album today from ol' Tim, good good stuff. Thank you to both roommates.. i will get my own though some roommates just can't be forever, or at least use there stuff forever. thanks again, seanTuff
The new album finally showed up in the mail yesterday. Holy shit mang! Very impressive, (as always). The cover of "Night" made my brain melt.
I caught a Chicago based act called Sing Sing at a party last week. They were okay, but their frontman, JOHN BELLOWS gave me one of his solo discs. This shit is really amazing! He has seen you play live before. If you happen to come across this dude's stuff you should check it out. I think you'd really dig it.
Thanks for the amazing new album. Hope all is well.
