I AM A POET: Not because anyone asked me to be, not because I thought it looked cool or because I thought it would impress some people, not because I wanted to get famous or because I wanted to drop an album, not because everyone else was doing it or because I wanted to make it on Def Poetry, not because I wanted to slam, not for bragging rights or four play, not to feed my ego or to find love, not to hear the sound of my own voice or have people clap and ooo and aaah about me, not to make friends or enemies, not to sell product or sell myself...-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I AM A POET because when fear and anger make love inside me/I ejaculate poetry from my pen/ I give birth to my emotions/ cut the umbilical cord and hand you my infant/my hands are blood stained/no epideral to ease the pain/I'm delerious/ trying to keep from going insane/ you are my midwife/telling me you can see the light/so I push/ push like god has created heaven/ inside me/push like your flame is out/ and you need me to ignite thee/I push until all the daddy's come home/and kiss their babies/ push until mommy's start teaching/their daughters how to be ladies/push until our little boys learn/ what its like to be a man/ push until little girls feel beautiful in their own skin/ I push... and after birth leaks from my lips as I spit/ my flesh is wide open/ there is no shame as I vent/ I let you see the hell inside me/ and the terror that guides me/because I know that you/ identify with me/ you've got hell inside you/ just like I do/ but if I am still beautiful/ then so are you /I am just a surrogate mother/ to your inspiration/ I carry the fire in me/ only to deliver your motivation/ I give birth to poetry because FREEDOM is my destinaton...-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Queen D
YOU'VE GOT TO KNOW THE GAME, TO PLAY THE GAME
AND I KNOW IT WELL
YOU'VE GOT TO RUN THE GAME, TO WIN THE GAME
AND THEN YOU'LL NEVER FAIL
TO PLAY THE GAME, YOU'VE GOT TO BE THE GAME
YOU'VE GOT TO KEEP IT TIGHT
IF YOU PLAY THE GAME, AND YOU LOSE THE GAME
YOU'LL LEARN TO DO IT RIGHT
I'VE MASTERED THE GAME BECAUSE I AM THE GAME
AND MY GAME WILL NEVER END
SO, IF WE PLAY THE GAME AND YOU LAST IN THE GAME
THERE IS NO QUESTION--- I WILL WIN

Peace Fam! I know you're wondering how we're doing with the fundraising for the trip to The National Poetry Slam this Aug. in Madison, we'll we're getting there - but there's still a long way to go. Have a look at the graph below and if you can spare it - throw a couple of bucks our way. It'll make you feel good - I guarantee! Here's where we are so far...
The moon is my messenger, kisses sugar coated dreams through your window, dark nights glow just for you and leave trails up above for the sun to follow, no matter where in the world we are we sit under the same sky and our feet pulse upon the same earth, connected in invisible vibrations, touched by the intangible, and life feels better because I know you are in it, we are a bundle of stories, and you are collecting lessons like pennies adding sense, we will exchange our value, and I am always here for you!
I'm glad that you remember me...hahaha!! Hope everything is good with you. Yeah I want to do that with the poetry and the mag...I got some stuff I wanna send you...let me know what's good.
