Plays
I love the energy
that comes with live performances, and whatever play I’m watching is my
favorite at that time. However, when I came to write this list, these seven plays
stood out. There is one performance that cannot be classified as a play; however,
the mime performance of MARCEL MARCEAU and his L'art du silence was
excellent.
The King and I with Yul Brynner
in 1956 also in 1972
Phantom of the Opera
with Michael Crawford
Hair the musical I was assistant director for this at Fullerton College.
Equus by Peter Shaffer
Fiddler on the Roof by
Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick
Cats the musical composed
by Andrew Lloyd Webber
Pygmalion by
George Bernard Shaw I saw this play here in the states and also in England. While
in England we stayed across the street from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in
Stratford-upon-Avon and enjoyed several plays there, walks in the park and a
romantic boat ride with just my husband, Phil, at the oars, on the river Avon
My Favorite quotes by Albert Einstein
Imagination is more important than
knowledge.
I am enough of an artist to draw
freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than
knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.
I never think of the future. It comes
soon enough.
A man's ethical behavior should be
based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis
is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by
fear of punishment and hope of reward after death.
Laws alone can not secure freedom of
expression; in order that every man present his views without penalty there
must be spirit of tolerance in the entire population.
My religion consists of a humble
admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight
details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble mind.
The important thing is not to stop
questioning.
The most beautiful thing we can
experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science.
The world is a dangerous place, not
because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do
nothing.
