Buzzsonic Records is a new digital dance music label run by the 99th Floor Elevators. The back catalog remixes of the 99th Floor Elevators two biggest singles, 'Hooked' and 'I'll Be There' have already been licensed for release in the UK and Europe on vinyl via Toolbox Recordings and Toolbox House respectively.
Digital downloads of some of the mixes of both tracks are available at the majority of UK dance download stores like TrackitDown, DJDownload, MixMag, Tidy Digital, VCMP3, XPress Beats, Ministry Of Sound and 3 Beat Digital.
We're still setting up distribution in the USA so that should include more dance specialists like Beatport and the usual mainstream outlets like Rhapsody, iTunes and Napster.
The 99th Floor Elevators were formed in London, UK in the mid 1990s and had a handful of independent dance label 12 inch vinyl releases out until they were picked up by Warner Bros subsidiary PWL/Labello Dance and had two massive top 10 hits in the UK's national dance charts with 'Hooked' and 'I'll Be There'.
The Elevators are best known for huge UK dance anthem 'Hooked' which has been championed by just about every hard house DJ in the UK over the years including OD404, Pete Wardman, Steve Thomas, the late but great (and much missed) Tony de Vit and 100s of other names across clubland.
The Elevators are now based in Southwest Florida and are set to unleash their own brand of Housey Euro stomp in the USA later in 2007 with an EP of the 'I'll Be There' remixes coming out on a limited run CD and through specialist download outlets and mainstream platforms alike. A new 99th Floor Elevators single is threatened for later this year too !
Meanwhile, 'I'll Be There' has recently been remixed and released in the UK via ultra cool UK dance label, Toolbox Recordings . The track has been licensed from the 99th Floor Elevators own USA imprint Buzzsonic Records. 'I'll Be There' comes with tough new mixes from UK DJ/remix-production team, the Killer Hurts and from DJ Nik Denton, aka Pulse Fiction. There's a further remix from UK Hard House don, Paul King just released as part of a Paul King double sider too.
A separate 12 inch pressing (on Toolbox offshoot label, Footloose Records) of house mixes of 'I'll Be There' has also been issued in the UK. The latest release in the UK kicking up a storm is the Nik Denton house remix of Hooked which is due for a limited 12inch vinyl release in the UK May 2007 and already sits at ..3 in the MixMag house chart and also got the thumbs up at March's Miami WMC.
