46 Long has been supplying the greater Cincinnati area with high-energy semi-acoustic Blues since the spring of 2001. The duo released "Savor Every Second" in January 2003 to critical acclaim and eventually went on to be nominated for a Cincinnati Entertainment Award (CEA) for Best Blues 2003. And now, at long last, 46 Long proudly announces the release of our new CD, "Time's Right."
Once dubbed "the finest dancing White Boy in all of Boston" by Luther Guitar Junior Johnson," Jonathan's musical roots trace mainly to Knoxville where he played with Defenders of the Faith, the late Sarah Jordan's "Jordan Project," and hosted the regionally famous Sassy Ann's Blue Jam. He also spent several years playing guitar (among other things) in West Africa along the way. Jonathan is in it for the groove.
Blake, a native New Yorker, left his classical voice and piano training behind to play Rock and Blues for dancing babes in late-night smoky clubs. Nice work if you can get it. Along the way Blake has fronted Smokestack Lightning in northern England, Blues Cult in Cincinnati, and various other "hired harp" work along the way, most recently with Mary ann Kindel and Cheryl Renee.
Blake is in it for the beautiful women.
Both Blake and Jonathan fulfill their Clark Kent duties as over-educated teachers and doting fathers. 46 Long promises great music and a professional attitude at every show. Together, they can lift amazingly heavy things. Come on out.
"Time's Right" represents four years of loving, careful, and sometimes agonizingly slow work. We’re confident that you don’t have anything quite like it in your record collection. We sure don’t. Sure, there are other guitar/harp Blues duos out there, but somewhere since our beginnings in 2001 as an acoustic Blues group, we’ve become something different. We hope you like it. We may be over-educated middle class white boys, but somewhere along the line we learned how to throw down anyway. If you don't believe us, just give us a shot... if we don't deliver, we'll buy you a beer.
Oh, and the name? Put it this way, at 6'3" and 220 lbs, Blake is the little one.

HAHAA, yeah man, My situation is a lil weird. All the blues folks in town have no idea that I play trumpet and all the Jazz folks in town have no idea I play bass. Pretty much everyone in town is clueless to my piano, guitar and drum set capabilities which makes surprises possible HAHAHA. Can't wait to jam with ya again man.

Hey! I've been talking it forever but I actually will get to see you guys live. My son will be singing at the Winter Bash on the 25th. I'm going to have to send him home well before 11:45 but I plan to stick around and party. Hope to see you there!
