Skills Competition
The Warriors competed in the skills competition - winning the "Around the Horn" event. From the field of 24 teams, the Warriors had the best time throwing from Catcher (Bo) to 3rd (Gardner), to SS (Thomas) to 2nd (Christian) to 1st (Zane), and back to Bo in 6.25 seconds. The players were awarded new bat bags for 1st place. Drew and Weston also competed in a "throw down" of the finals in the "Golden Arm" event, both placing in the top 5 of all competitors. Congratulations Warriors!

After Pool Play, the Warriors were 1-1, allowing only 4 runs, scoring 8 runs, but placing the Warriors in the Silver Bracket, #1 Seed. The Warriors won the Silver Championship with wins over the Mud Dawgs (9-2), and the Rivercats (14-5).

The Murfreesboro Warriors's Blurbs

About me:
The 2008 World Champion Murfreesboro Warriors are a competitive travel baseball team (11 year olds) from Murfreesboro, TN.

WARRIORS win World Series:

The Warriors went 3-0 in Pool Play, securing the #2 seed from the 54 team tournament. The Warriors then won their first round game Wednesday, against the Fort Bend Rebels (TX), 9-1. On Thursday, the Warriors then defeated the Lee Summit Force (MO) 6-3. On Friday, the Warriors defeated the Sting Baseball Club (LA) 10-2. Play continued Saturday, when the Warriors lost their first game to the Lincoln Sox. The Warriors then defeated the Quad City Redbirds on Sunday with a 2-1 victory in the bottom of the 6th. The Warriors then had a chance to face the Lincoln Sox again, but this time, the Warriors won 5-0 in game one, forcing a 10th game for the World Series Championship. The Warriors hit well and played strong defense, defeating the Sox 7-1, and claiming the USSSA 11-u AAA World Series Championship!

The 2008 11-u Murfreesboro Warriors wish to thank our sponsors for supporting our team. As a non-profit organization, sponsor contributions provide the opportunity for an exciting and rewarding experience for these young players.

The Warriors finished the 2008 season with a record of 64-21, outscoring opponents 656-324. The Warriors won several tournaments, including the Tennessee BPA State Championship and the USSSA World Series.

With USSSA, The 2008 Warriors were ranked #1 in Tennessee (points earned for 11-AAA teams) and #2 in the national rankings (out of 975 AAA teams). The Warriors concluded the 2008 season by winning the USSSA AAA World Series (54-Teams) in Shawnee, KS, July 5-13.

The 2008 Warriors won the BPA Tennessee State Championship by sweeping the State Tournament with 6 straight wins! The Warriors are ranked #2 (BPA Points) in the Southern Region, and #7 Nationally out of all 11-year old BPA teams.

The Warriors improved from their solid 2007 season performance, which concluded with a record of 56-26. During the 82-game season in 2007, the Warriors finished in 2nd place in 3 tournaments, and were named Tournament Champions in 3 USSSA tournaments. In 2007, the Warriors outscored their opponents 633 – 401, averaging 7.7 runs per game, while allowing only 4.9 runs per game. The 2007 season included a 17-game winning streak.
