ON A ISLAND with CROSBY & NASH
Man of the World
Born in the East End of London (for my American friend that like Dick Van Dyke in mary poppins) in the swinging 60's, then moved to Stoke Newington, North London at the age of two, second youngest of seven, dad had a day job in a timber yard and in the evenings had a part time job in the local pub, mum was a real mum, what i mean is she was left to deal with us, the home just about ever thing, she could and still can cook the best Sunday dinners in the world. The 70's is what i remember the most, long hot summers, leaving the front door open the whole day, the nose neighbour wearing a paisley apron, mum cleaning the front door step and sharing a bedroom with my elder brother Paul who was 10yrs older then me, i can remember his long hair and YMCA tash (looked like a slug on the top lip...sorry paul) he would creep in about two in the morning drunk, stoned, off his face grab his vinyl, lift the lid on the stereo and let the styles drop (dink) and in my dreams i could hear the angels singing, this voice bringing me out of the dream, i would open my eyes pull the coats down off my face and listen to the angels, this music was like nothing i ever heard, then this thumping heart beat and then these clocks ticking, OK by now you can work it out, the album was Dark Side of the Moon. I think ever body can remember when they first heard this album, for me it was a 11 year old boy, with my head on the pillow trying to make my heart beat the same as the record, or trying to work out how many clocks were used. Happy Days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I have seen The Pink Floyd play live and heard most of the tribute bands. When the film The Wall came out in the 80's me and friends see it at lest seven time, i try to play in the same style as David Gilmour (yer right), bands come and go but The Floyd have been with me for 33 yrs and counting. I'm 45 now(act like 34) live in the romford area been with my girl friend for?? no it can't be!! (she just told me 16 yrs) we have two girls 16 and 10, don't work it out. Work hard as you do, been play guitar for 5yrs or so with the help for a computer ie guitar port looking to join a band for fun or gigging, you can listen to me playing lead over the backing tracks on my screen (not as good as The Floyd, but hey!!!) recorded on the home computer with a PODxt Live, I'm happy with it!!! Any comments let me know. what more can i say. Thank for reading.Shine On

I've been run down and I've been lied to. And I don't know why, I let that mean woman make me a fool. She took all my money, wrecks my new car. Now she's with one of my good time buddies, They're drinkin in some cross-town bar.
Sometimes I feel, sometimes I feel, Like I been tied to the whippin post. Tied to the whippin post, tied to the whippin post. Good Lord, I feel like I'm dyin.
My friends tell me, that I've been such a fool. But I had to stand by and take it baby, all for lovin you. Drown myself in sorrow as I look at what you've done. But nothing seemed to change, the bad times stayed the same, And I can't run.
Sometimes I feel, sometimes I feel, Like I been tied to the whippin post. Tied to the whippin post, tied to the whippin post. Good Lord, I feel like I'm dyin.
Sometimes I feel, sometimes I feel, Like I been tied to the whippin post. Tied to the whippin post, tied to the whippin post. Good Lord, I feel like I'm dyin.
