Police are looking for a suspect who hit and killed a Rock Hill teenager Friday night.
It happened on Adnah Church Road, near Old York Road, around 5 p.m..
Investigators said a truck hit 15-year old Christopher Lanier when he was following some friends on a dirt bike. Officials said he was knocked off his dirt bike and run over. Paramedics took him to Piedmont Hospital where he later died of his injuries.
Lanier’s friends told our news crew, the driver seemed to have stopped after hitting Lanier but then just drove off.
On Saturday, family and friends gathered to create a memorial for Lanier. Cody Fox was one of the friends who saw the accident happen. He hopes that police will be able to find the suspect soon.
“He was a good kid and if you can help out in anyway, please do it. Because I know his parents are feeling bad right now,” said Fox.
Rock Hill police said they’re looking for a dark colored Ford pick-up truck with an extended cab. The truck has chrome wheels and tinted windows. And there may be slight damage to the left front of the truck. If you have any information about this accident, you are encouraged to call Rock Hill police at 1-800-896-1504.
