Alajuwon Wright and Higher Desire have been singing together for many years, as children they sung under the direction of Min. Kenneth James and the TCOG Youth Mass Choir. Alajuwon became Assist. Director when he was 16 years old. As he took on more responsibilties so did the others start to blossom in their gifts that God had given them. After many years of singing in the youth choir God gave Alajuwon the vision to start a group of his own in July of 2005. After praying about it and making sure that this was the will of God he finally when to his Pastor (Bishop Dr. Micheal James) and talked to him about starting a group he also when to his Youth Director Min K. James and they both set their approval of the birth of the group. From there Alajuwon went to different members of the youth choir whom he sung with and asked them to be apart of the group which they did accept. The group had it's 1st rehearsal in September of 2005, from the very 1st rehearsal they all knew that they had something special and it was up to them to allow God to take them to the place He wanted them to be. The group was together but they didn't have a name, after many name considerations that Alajuwon, Min. K. James, and many of the members tried to think of, Anisha finally came up with the name Higher Desire. Alajuwon liked that name and he when to the group and they all agreed that Higher Desire best fit them in what they were trying to have in life. Through these pass years they've had really seen some ups and down, some people from the original group have left but those who remain continue to strive to be the group of young people God has invision them to be. We are a bunch of crazy, fun loving, young people of God that love Him with all their hearts and we are determine to win souls to Christ through our music and our lifestyles. HD 4 FREE
