My name is Amanda Foubister I was born in Auckland and raised in Gisborne the East Coast. I have always had a love for adventure and all aspects of sport. Growing up in Gisborne was awesome; being a country town I experience and get involved into a lot of different sports. What ever came my way I gave it a go!! (My poor Parents ha ha ha). I competing in National level and regional levels Equestrian, Trampolining, Diving and surf life saving.
After high school I traveled to Brazil and taught English to under privileged children for six months. It was a wonderful feeling helping these children coming from NZ under privileged held a whole new meaning to me after that trip.
Upon returning to NZ I began coaching Trampolining again however my competitive strike creped in and I began competing again however this time around my goal was to compete for NZ, so I traveled to Australia to train with Fred who is a renouned world class coach for two months and then moved back to Auckland for the world trials, I made the team and competed at the worlds in South Africa.
When I returned I start then began working as a stunt performer on Xena Warrior Princess, nine years later I am still working in this industry and have worked on films such as Lord Of The Rings, Nania and King Kong (for a full credit list www.imdb.com or www.stuntguildnz.com).
However after being involved in competitive sports for a long period of my life, I felt like something was missing. And as this feeling was running through my bones I was induced to a now wonderful friend and mentor Alison Rainbow who suggested that I get involved in competing in Body shaping or Ms Fitness, after competing firstly in figure, I then decided to change to Fitness it looked more fun and the training is more diversed.
I love to keep busy, it is what drives me, when I am not on set falling over :) or training I am working at Results Nutrition Centre or packing up boxes of Power Crunch Bars (they are so so good) and sending them out to the stores.
