Singer/songwriter Tamar Kaprelian got her big break after winning OneRepublic's "Apologize" Cover Contest on YouTube in 2008.
The cover tune was released as a single and OneRepublic lead Ryan Tedder introduced Kaprelian to Interscope, who eventually signed her to a recording contract. Born in Scottsdale, AZ, the Armenian-American Kaprelian was first excited by the music in classic animated Disney films. However, as a pianist/vocalist she later drew inspiration from such iconic singer/songwriters as Billy Joel, Elton John, Paul McCartney and Carol King. In 2010, Kaprelian released her debut album, Sinner or a Saint, featuring the single "New Day." ~ Matt Collar
